Chamonix is a legendary place, with incredible ski courses and a town that is vibrant and alive all year around. Chamonix is not a ski in - ski out purpose built resort, but rather a town which became the world capital of mountaineering and developed into a world renowned ski resort.

Chamonix has only 10,000 permanent residents and welcomes over 100 000 visitors in peak season. In the streets of this high-mountain town you'll hear languages from every corner of the globe. ‘Cham’ as it is known locally, is a destination popular all over the world. Visitors come to Chamonix for the love of mountains, the towns atmosphere and beautiful nature.

Mont-Blanc, is 4,810 metres (15,781 ft) of rock, glacier and snow. The peak overlooks the town and serves as a daily reminder that Chamonix is a very special place.

Set in a dramatic valley, the town extends lengthwise over several kilometres.

The southern slopes of Chamonix facing the Mont Blanc massif is one of the most sought-after location in the town due to the vantage of long sunshine hours and beautiful panoramic views of the Chamonix valley and the Mont-Blanc. The areas on the South side are Les Nants, Le Brevent, Les Moussoux and Les Pècles.

Around 3 km upstream from Chamonix are the upmarket hamlets of Les Praz, Les Tines and Les Bois. You can buy an individual chalet or find an apartment in one of the new developments recently built. These areas enjoy plenty of sunshine and a wonderful golf course (18 holes) with breathtaking views.

Les Gaillands, Les Pelerins, Les Favrands and Les Bossons are areas located only 1, 2 or 3 km downstream from the town centre of Chamonix.
