The village of Argentiere is especially renowned for its ski area 'Les Grands Montets' (up to an altitude of 3300 m), particularly suitable for experienced skiers who prefer tough slopes along with a freeriders playground.

Located at the end of the Valley (7 km from Chamonix), Argentière village and its hamlets (Le Lavancher, Les Grassonets, Le Tour, Tre le Champs, Vallorcine) stand at an altitude of around 1,250 metres. This exceptional location lies at the foot of the impressive Argentière Glacier and legendary peaks such as the Aiguille Verte.

Just above Argentiere are the villages of Le Tour and Vallorcine which make up the Balme ski area. There you can find beautiful wide ski slopes facing the Mont Blanc. This area offers great opportunities for family skiing and mountaineering, and it is less crowded than Chamonix.
