The family-friendly resort of Les Houches is situated at 1000 metres of altitude lying at the foot of the Mont-Blanc. Les Houches offers an exceptional panorama of the peaks surrounding Chamonix. The village is made up of a multitude of hamlets including oratories, chapels, old bread ovens and farms bearing witness to its past and receiving considerable attention nowadays.

Located only 7 km from the town centre of Chamonix, Les Houches sits roughly 4000 permanent residents. Les Houches stands out as being more suitable for families. Even the ski slopes require less technical level of skiing ability. The slopes have lots of alpine chalets along the tracks close to beautiful trees. In summer, Les Houches is great for hiking, rock climbing and we dare you not to fall in love with the rolling hills, lakes and alpine air.

Les Houches is divided into two geographic areas: the entrance and the center of the village on one side and Les Chavants area on the other side. The entrance and the center of the village is an area close to shops while the Chavants area, renowned for its quality of sunshine, is close to the slopes. The town is currently revising its planning rules: the mandatory transition to a local plan should allow greater constructability than allowed the COS (Coefficient of Land Use) applicable today.

The property prices are more affordable than the neighbouring Chamonix. Les Houches is a stategic move : a link between the ski areas of Bellevue Prarion will soon be created with the vast ski area of Saint Gervais and Megève!

Additionally Les Houches is home to the famous world cup skiing on the legendary Kandahar piste.
